The manufacturing sub-sector development in Indonesia, especially in Jakarta, was followed by the growth of industrial zones which sporadically spread in various corners of the city. This condition requires the regional government to organize industrial activities in an effort to unite in a special area, so that it can be developed and provide benefits to the surrounding community.

Pulogadung is the main choice, because of its strategic location and has adequate access to transportation and distribution throughout the Jakarta area. At that time Pulogadung was still in the form of unproductive land which consisted mainly of swamps. Through the Decree of the Provincial Governor of KDKI Jakarta No. Ib.3 / 2/35/1969 stipulated an area of 500 HA as the location of an industrial area under the name Pulogadung Industrial Estate.

As the first industrial area in Indonesia, Pulogadung Industrial Estate was initially managed through a project container, under the name of the Industrial Estate Pulogadung Project owned by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. In line with the increasing development of investment in Indonesia, especially in DKI Jakarta, the scope of work of the Pulogadung Industrial Estate Project is increasingly complex. And to support the development of the needs of the industrial community, the Government considers adjustment, both in terms of institutions and capital.

On June 26, 1973 PT. Persero Jakarta Industrial Estate Pulogadung (PT. JIEP) which replaced Pulogadung’s Industrial Estate Project with Notary Deed Abdul Latief No. 127 of 1973. The Republic of Indonesia’s capital participation in PT. JIEP, determined through Government Regulation No. 28 of 1973 and Provincial Governor Letter of KDKI Jakarta No. D.V-a.3 / 2/36/73. Until now the composition of shareholders of PT. JIEP is 50% of the Republic of Indonesia and 50% of the Provincial Government of DKI Jakarta.

The Company has undergone several amendments to the Articles of Association, most recently amended by the Deed of Statement of Outside Meeting of the Company PT. Jakarta Industrial Estate Pulogadung or abbreviated as PT. JIEP (Persero) No. 25 dated 16 October 2009, which was approved by the Minister of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia based on the Decree AHU-AH.01.10-21151 dated 24 November 2009, both of which were made before Siti Rayhana, SH as a substitute for BRAY Mahyastoeti Notonogero, SH, Notary in Jakarta .
